Highland Village completed by John Reddock on 16 acres of land at the intersection of I-55 Frontage road and Northside Drive. The shopping center consisted of an A&P Supermarket, Morgan & Lindsay Five and Dime, Patterson Drug Store and Olde Tyme Deli.

Jimmy Fowler becomes sole owner of Highland Village and added First National Bank (now Trustmark Bank) and a Chevron service station along Northside Drive.

Broke ground for the Phase 1 expansion (Courtyard) that would add 44 more stores and 45,000 square feet of office space.
Grand opening of Phase 1 expansion.
Richard M. Nixon becomes the first and only U.S. president to resign from office.
Phase 2 opened. Phase 2 redesigned the original strip center, adding seven more stores and including an indoor Promenade.
Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne founded Apple Computer Company. Jobs reports he suggested “Apple” as the company name because he thought “it sounded fun, spirited and not intimidating” and he was one of his “fruitarian diets.”
Opening of Phase 3, The Plaza, adds another 55,000 square feet and 20 additional stores to the development.
